About Me

Get To Know Me!

Public officials are here to represent the community. I want us to get to know each other, to come to trust each other and to work together for the best present and future for our schools and our children.

I am a mom. My children are 7, 5 and almost 3. Times are wild, but I love it and am so grateful. It is essential that we get representation on the board of parents with young children. Young children have different educational and social emotional needs than older children and we can not forget them in this unprecedented time.

I am a former teacher. I have a Master’s Degree in Education and a Bilingual Elementary Teaching Credential. Before having children I spent 6 years teaching early elementary school. I know first hand that teachers need all the support we can give them. They care deeply about our children and are educated professionals who know how real learning happens and all the varying needs of the children they teach. We must listen to teachers, we must value their education and experience, we must work as a team for the benefit of our children and all the children in our community.

I believe whole heartedly that we all need to be working for equity and against racism in our small community and in the larger world. We need to use our privilege to show up for those who need us most. As a person, as a parent and as a candidate, I believe that the lives of Black, Indigenous, Latinx and other people of color and LGBTQIA+ folks matter and are valuable. While I will undoubtedly make mistakes, I am committed to running a campaign and working towards a community where these and other marginalized communities, are heard and seen.
