About Me

My super supportive husband and I have three small children, ages 7, 5 and 2. The oldest two are enrolled in San Lorenzo Elementary. We live with our dog, cats and chickens in Ben Lomond, surrounded by friendly, welcoming and helpful neighbors. I love to garden, bake and explore all the incredible natural beauty of this area. We could not be happier to be here!
I also run a small, creative online business, selling sewing supplies and teaching apparel sewing classes in my small studio in my front yard, a business that allows me to be creative, to learn new things, to help people find self care through creativity and to build community both online and here in the San Lorenzo Valley.

My Experience

I have always wanted to help make the world a better place. Seriously. In third grade I was participating in fundraisers to help clean up the Exxon Valdez oil spill. In fifth grade I organized a letter writing campaign in my school to help save the whales. And in college I realized that the way I could best change the world, in all of the areas I cared most about, was to go into education.
Before having children, I taught for six years in kindergarten through third grade in bilingual programs in both Castroville and San Diego County. I have a Masters degree in Education, a Bilingual certified Elementary teaching credential and a BA in Sociology with a minor in Education, graduating with honors.
Check out the My Platform link above to read about my plans for our school district based on my life experiences.

I feel so lucky to be a part of this community and would love to share some useful and fun resources with you, along with a playlist I made of local bands. I hope you enjoy it!
